What’s changed

Team Directory

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Reads any public Squarespace blog (7.0 and 7.1) with one post per person, through its JSON feed. Shows the first people within about a second, remembers the team between visits and checks for changes with one request.
  • Grid, list and Teams layouts, with black and white portraits that turn to colour on hover (or colour all the time) and a monogram for people without a photo.
  • Search across names, roles, teams, skills, languages and places, which ignores macrons and apostrophes.
  • Team buttons with live counts, location and language filters, and a sentence under the bar that says what's showing, with each part removable.
  • Profiles in a dialog with pronouns, role, teams, location, languages, "Ask me about", a short bio, email and call buttons, a copy-email button and a link to the full profile.
  • Reads roles, emails, phones, pronouns, languages, locations and "Ask me about" from labelled lines in the post, and the role from the first paragraph when there's no "Role:" line. Editor's notes in [square brackets] are never shown.
  • Shareable links for people and filters (?team=person/…, ?team=t/…), and Back closes a profile.
  • Optional A to Z bar, a starting team, alphabetical or surname order, "Show more" for big teams, a contact suggestion when nothing matches, and fields that can be hidden.
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, and floats its search bar beneath any fixed header.
  • Setup check at ?team=check.

Resource Library

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Reads any public Squarespace blog (7.0 and 7.1) as a library, one post per resource. The first page shows within about a second, the rest loads in parallel, and a returning visitor's copy is checked for changes with one request.
  • Finds each resource's link in the post: a Squarespace file or any document, audio, video or zip link first, then Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, SharePoint or Box, then a YouTube or Vimeo video (playlists, live streams and unlisted Vimeo videos included), then the first other website, and otherwise the post itself. Works out the type from that link (PDF, Word, Document, Slides, Spreadsheet, Audio, Video, ZIP, Image, File, Link or Page) unless a Type: tag sets it.
  • Topics from categories and plain tags, or from categories and Topic: tags once any post uses one; audiences from Audience: tags; a featured row from a "Featured" category or tag; New badges for recent posts.
  • A bar that floats under the site's header with search, topic chips with live counts, type and audience filters, Newest, A–Z and Best match sorting, and a grid or list view. On narrow screens the filters move into a sheet.
  • Cards with a button that says what it does ("Download PDF", "Open in Google Drive", "Watch video"), a Details link, and a list of every file when a post holds several.
  • Shareable links for every view (?lib=topic/…, ?lib=type/…, ?lib=q/…) with a Back button that behaves.
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, and draws a placeholder in the site's accent for resources without a thumbnail.
  • Setup check at ?lib=check.
  • Works in Safari 15.0 to 15.3, which has no <dialog>: the filters and file lists open as panels over a veil instead.

Events Explorer

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Reads any public Squarespace events page (7.0 and 7.1), in either the list layout (every event in one request) or the calendar layout (this month and the five after it in parallel, other months on request). Remembers the events between visits and checks for changes with one request.
  • A list grouped by month, with a date tile, the time range, the venue with a map link, categories and the thumbnail on every event, plus Today, Tomorrow and Happening now labels.
  • A month calendar with titles on wide screens and dots on phones. Choosing a day filters the list below it, and the arrow keys move between days.
  • Search, category chips with counts, a When filter (upcoming, this week, this month, the next three months) and a Past events view, newest first.
  • Add to calendar on every event: Google Calendar, or an .ics file for Apple Calendar and Outlook, built in the browser.
  • Every time shows in the site's own time zone, with a zone label for visitors elsewhere, and online events also show the visitor's own time. Recognises all-day and multi-day events, and ignores Squarespace's starting map pin in New York.
  • Shareable links for every view (?events=cat/youth, ?events=month/2026-11, ?events=past), and the Back button works.
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, and floats its filter bar beneath any fixed header.
  • Setup check at ?events=check.

Sermon Shelf

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Reads any public Squarespace blog (7.0 and 7.1) through its JSON feed, showing the newest page within about a second and loading the rest of the archive in parallel year slices. Remembers the archive between visits and checks for changes with one request.
  • Latest sermon feature, series grid with artwork, a Scripture shelf of all 66 books, speakers, and an all-sermons list with year, series, speaker and book filters.
  • Search that understands passages, so "Romans 8" finds Romans 8:18–39 but not Romans 12:1–8.
  • Bible references read from titles, excerpts, tags, audio block titles and "Scripture:" lines, with the common abbreviations, and guarded against names and dates.
  • Floating player with skip, speed, lock-screen controls and resume. List rows show listening progress.
  • Shareable links for every view (?shelf=series/…, ?shelf=book/john).
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, and floats its search bar beneath any fixed header.
  • Setup check at ?shelf=check.

Giving Kit

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Four parts from one paste: a progress bar or thermometer, gift levels with Give buttons, a pledge calculator, and the full appeal with all three together.
  • Progress shows the total, the percentage of the goal, donors and days to go, counts up once when it's first seen, marks milestones as the total passes them, and says "Goal reached" when it's done. Labels sit under the bar when there's room and become a list on phones.
  • Optional live numbers from a published Google Sheet (CSV), falling back to the numbers on the page if the sheet can't be read.
  • The calculator takes preset or typed amounts, five frequencies and pledges over several years, and shows the total and what it could pay for.
  • Tax rules for New Zealand (a third back as a donation tax credit, the same maths as the Peniel Trust Growth Fund calculator), UK Gift Aid and Australia (deductible, with an estimate at the donor's tax rate), or none.
  • Give buttons fill in {amount}, {frequency}, {years}, {total} and {currency} on your giving page's address. Links like ?give=50-weekly-3y open the calculator already filled in.
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, with guards for buttons that match their section and headings that don't read against it.
  • Setup check at ?give=check.

Service Times

1.0.0 (October 2026)

First release.

  • Four styles from one set of settings: a next-service card, a slim bar, a weekly schedule and a "We're live" banner.
  • Weekly services, one-off specials that replace the usual services that day (or only the ones you name), and skipped weeks with a note.
  • Worked out in your own time zone (taken from Squarespace's settings by default), so daylight saving never moves a service. Visitors in other zones see the time where they are.
  • A countdown that updates every 30 seconds ("in 2 days", "in 3 h 20 min", "starting now") and changes over on its own when a service ends or goes live.
  • Add to calendar for a single service (an .ics file, or Google Calendar) and directions through Google Maps.
  • The live window runs from a set number of minutes before a streamed service to a set number after it. ?services=live previews it.
  • Settings can live inside each block or once for the whole site. Curly quotes, comments and stray commas are tidied so they don't break the page.
  • Takes fonts, colours and button shape from the site, with guards for buttons that match their section and headings that don't read against it.
  • Setup check at ?services=check, including the next six services.
